Cookie and privacy policy

How we use cookies, and what we do with your data.

Introduction

When you visit our website (Black Friday in UAE) we collect information about you, which we use to adapt and improve our content and to raise the value of the advertising shown on the site. If you do not want information collected, delete your cookies and stop using the website. Below we set out what is collected, what it is for, and which third parties have access to it.

Cookies

The website uses "cookies", a text file stored on your computer, mobile or similar device in order to recognise it, remember settings, produce statistics and target advertising. A cookie cannot hold harmful code such as a virus.

If you delete or block cookies, advertising may become less relevant to you and appear more often. You may also find that the website does not work as it should, and that there is content you cannot reach.

The third parties that set cookies

  • Google Analytics: statistics about visits and use of the site.
  • Cloudflare: delivery and security. It sets a strictly necessary cookie that tells a person from a machine.
  • Our affiliate partners, for example Partner-ads and Adtraction: they set a cookie only when you follow a link on to a shop, and they set it on their own domain.
  • Plunk: sending the newsletter, if you sign up for it.

Cookies for statistics are set only after you have said yes. If you say no, or you do not answer, Google Analytics is not loaded at all: no request goes to Google, and no cookie is set.

Two things are set whatever you answer, because the site cannot work without them: the security cookie of Cloudflare, and the cookie that remembers your choice. The last one holds one word, yes or no, and nothing about you.

When the window of the newsletter has opened, or when you signed up, your browser keeps a date. Until that date, the window does not open again. The date never leaves your browser, and it says nothing about you.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookies" link at the bottom of every page. We remember the answer for a year, and then we ask once more.

Personal data

Personal data is every kind of information that can be traced back to you in some degree. When you use our website we collect and process a number of such items. That happens when you simply read the content, if you sign up for our newsletter, or if you follow an affiliate link on to a shop. We typically collect and process the following: a unique ID and technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile telephone, your IP number, your geographical position, and which pages you click on.

Security

We process your personal data safely and confidentially, in accordance with the law in force, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the Danish Data Protection Act.

Your data is used only for the purpose it was collected for, and is deleted when that purpose is met or is no longer relevant.

We have taken technical and organisational measures against your data being deleted, published, lost, damaged, disclosed to anybody without authority, misused, or otherwise processed against the law, whether by accident or unlawfully.

Purpose

The data is used to show you the content and the offers most likely to be relevant to you, to measure which links are followed on to a shop, and to deliver the services you asked for, such as sending a newsletter. We also use the data to improve our services and our content.

How long we keep it

The data is kept for the period the law allows, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. The period depends on the nature of the data and the reason for keeping it, so no general time limit can be given for when information is deleted.

Passing data on

Data about your use of the website, which links you follow on to a shop, and your geographical position is passed to the third parties named under "Cookies" above. The data is used for statistics and to settle commission.

We also use a number of third parties to store and process data. They process data only on our behalf, and they may not use it for purposes of their own.

Personal data such as a name or an email address is passed on only if you consent to it. We use data processors in the EU, or in countries that can give your data adequate protection.

The newsletter and your interests

When you sign up for our newsletter you can tell us which offers you are interested in. That is optional. We keep what you tick and what you write, together with your email address, and we use it to pick the offers in the newsletters we send you.

We also keep counts of which newsletters you open, which links you press, and on which weekdays and at which hours you do so. We keep these counts for 180 days, and we keep no record of single presses beyond 90 days. We use them to send the newsletter when it suits you, and with offers that suit you.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by signing up. You can change your interests with the link at the bottom of every newsletter, and you withdraw the consent by stopping the newsletter with the link beside it. When you stop, we delete your interests and the counts.

Access and complaints

You have the right to be told which personal data we process about you, in a common format (data portability). You may object at any time to the data being used. You may also withdraw your consent to data about you being processed. If the data processed about you is wrong, you have the right to have it corrected or deleted. Write to [email protected]. If you want to complain about how we process your personal data, you can also contact the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

If you no longer want us to process your personal data, or you want us to restrict the processing of it, you can send us a request to the address above.
